What was happening in 2003.
I worked from a Studio above Boheme Cafe, Richmond Melbourne... Took a trip to London and Spain, visited the Alhambra near Granada which was breathtaking, magnificent. Started exploring the idea of the portrait that expresses a state of mind or emotional position as opposed to a particular "face". The birds appear which symbolise the soul, our capacity to "fly" whether in our imaginations, as spirit, or just our ability to make a choice and shift our mindset, becomes a familiar companion to the heads.
